Hughes was recruited in a state not bound by any club after being fired
Fulham , 2 June. Even so, Hughes rated QPR management has a good reputation, including in terms of recruiting top players to join.

With the purchase of quality players, Hughes is expected to improve the position of QPR who currently is ranked 17th Premier League standings, with 17 points, or one point ahead of Bolton Wanderers, at rank 18. According to the Guardian, Hughes had planned to recruit Aston Villa striker, Darren Bent.
