According to local media India, 27-year-old striker was not helped his life due to the slow handling of the medical team. One of them, no ambulance available at the Stadium of Bangalore, where the match was held. Venkatesh's teammates had to carry with tuk-tuk to the nearest hospital.

"Venkatesh appeared as a second half substitute for his club against the South Western Railway. He fainted at the end of the game," wrote India Football Federation (AIFF) in a statement.
